I often use antique skeleton keys in my work. The keys I use are actually antique...they are not re-cast reproductions. I am always searching for interesting specimens. As with all my materials, I use them to convey meaning and narrative: the key might refer to an obvious process of unlocking or an opening up...or something more subtle.
