I have used all the chain parts from this Vesta in other pieces, but I still have the lovely little box container itself. It is sterling silver, from the UK. It is a match safe (or a box to hold matches) and has a striated, striking base. The top hinges up from the side. Both sides are covered with delicate, cursive engraving. On one side is a circular area for a monogram...but this remains empty (waiting for someone's initials? Or perhaps a quote?). I would solder another sterling ring to the other side so it hangs evenly. Quite exquisite. It has been with me for some time now...I've been considering what story it could tell...it must be something special I think.
